Thanos and his Infinity Stones deck have been altered by Marvel Snap creator Second Dinner after they proven to be a touch too potent. When a player reaches collection level 486, they can eventually get Thanos, a very rare Pool 5 card. During the Power Cosmic season of Marvel Snap, which lasts from late December 2022 until January 2, 2023, his cards were added. In the game, players can prepare an ample amount of Marvel Snap Top Up.

When Thanos is added to the deck, the six Infinity Stone cards are also shuffled. The Infinity Stones each provide different abilities that make Thanos even more powerful. If all Infinity Stones are played, Thanos gains a +10 Power Buff, raising the card's Power to 18. Or, at least that's how it used to work.

In the recently released March 21 update, Thanos got a new sound effect, but his card was nerfed like many Marvel Snap cards before it to bring some balance to the game. Thanos' power has now been reduced from 11 to 10. In the patch notes, Second Dinner stated that it doesn't think this will significantly affect the success of the Thanos deck, as most of the card's power comes from players drawing Infinity's Stone of Luck cards. According to the Marvel Snap information site Snap.fan, Thanos ranks first among all cards with the highest win rate in a player's deck, with a staggering 59% win rate.

An Infinity Stone has also been reworked. The Space Stone is arguably the most powerful of all Infinity Stones that can be shuffled into a player's deck. It was revealed that it allows the player to move any card where the Space Stone was played, and then the player can draw another card, which can help the player get another Infinity Stone. Now, after a recent Marvel Snap update, the Space Stone can move a card to where the Space Stone was played. The player still draws a card. Second Dinner says the change is specifically to reduce the strength of the Space Stone when it interacts with the Lockjaw card, which allows players to play a card in the same position as the Lockjaw so it can be swapped out for a random card in their deck.

Other card changes included in the patch nerfed the Quinjet's cost reduction ability to one, so players can no longer use it to reduce the cost of a card to zero. She-Hulk strength reduced from 10 to 9. Aero's power has been increased from 7 to 8, but now she only moves one enemy card to her position instead of every enemy card. Mystique, Absorbing Man, and Taskmaster now all require the use of a previously played card in order to copy a card's stats. Morbius' power now only updates in one location, while Knull's power now updates in the hand instead of the deck.
