Studio Jagex, a game maker Jagex is most likely to be famous for its huge Runescape collection OSRS Gold, but a lot of people may not realize that the company has been expanding its offerings to include publishing, publishing, and even tabletop gaming.

Jagex recently announced that it had entered into a contract with indie developer Outlier Games to publish the studio's debut game, spaceship management roguelike This Means Warp. The game is set to be released on PC through Steam Early Access on March 17.

It was created with replayability and multiplayer in mind, this Means Warp encourages players to play together and to think strategically in intense, real-time space battles, and employ shrewd strategies to navigate their ship through an incredibly hostile, procedurally-generated universe.

The game draws inspiration from roguelikes including FTL and games for parties like Overcooked this Means Warp sees players control crew members on board the ship, operating various mechanisms, aiming weapons and performing repairs, and eventually charting a course through the dark and dangerous space.

For more information about Jagex's release of This Means Warp, we spoke to Outlier Games' founders Paul Froggatt and Matt Rathbun as well as Lead Product Manager for Jagex Robert Fox-Galassi about their thoughts about this new partnership.

Like many indie game developers our start in the games industry began with experimenting with game concepts and codes over a long period of time, and then finally putting together something we could play!

I've had 10 years of experience working at Google before I made the decision to go into game development full time. Matt's work spans the construction of Hollywood computers on movie sets Cheap RuneScape Gold, and a brief stint in South Korean esports and mobile game development. We're beyond excited to share what we've created with This Means Warp.
